The Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open 2020

Last week the Aberdeen Standard Investments hot air balloon traveled to the Ladies Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick.

This was the eighth consecutive year we have been in attendance and this year’s event took place without the public in attendance due to Covid-19 restrictions. However the Aberdeen Standard Investments hot air balloon could be seen by all during the coverage on Sky Sports.

The weather forecast showed challenging conditions throughout the three days on site. On Friday the balloon was situated behind the eighth tee and managed to tether for four hours during broadcast times.

Saturday and Sunday saw a change in the balloon’s location on site and it was tethered alongside the eighteenth tee. The winds were a little quicker on Saturday and Sunday but our expert team were able to keep the balloon upright until play had stopped.

Stacy Lewis was this years winner. Lewis secured her win with a birdie on the first extra hole after finishing in a four way tie with Azahara Munoz, Emily Pederson and Cheyenne Knight.
